Mabel E. Roberts, 48, claims Officer Christopher Johnson used excessive force and discharged pepper spray in her face during a disturbance outside her home on May 23, 2010. Roberts’ attorney, Lucas Mihuta, argues that the officer had no reason to arrest his client and that he acted “excessively and maliciously” by using the pepper spray and then “grabbing her from behind and violently raising her arms above her shoulders, forcibly turning her to face him and placing her in handcuffs that were intentionally overtightened.”
